54: A RARE EARLY 19C. FRENCH BRONZE MOUNTED LYRE FORM BIDET

The lyre-shaped back with acanthus bud finials, bronze stringing and beading above a caned seat enclosing a silvered pan over a rail applied with bronze paterae, fluted turned tapering legs with bronze mounts. Circa 19th century or earlier.
Measures 31 x 21 x 13.25, seat height 16 inches.
Good to fair condition, considerable wood splits to the hinged cover and caning, old repairs, one bronze patera missing from the back, good dark and warm original patina.
Provenance: The multi-generation collection of an early Kansas City family in the same home since 1962.
