69: AN ELABORATE 19TH CENTURY LOUIS XVI CYLINDER FRONT DESK

The circa 1900 desk on legs with pierced brass gallery enclosing rouge marble above four bronze-mounted drawers having inlaid fronts over a rotating cylinder front embellished by inlaid gryphons and a bronze plaque with lovebirds, the cylinder rotating to reveal a divided interior with shelves over a pull-out writing surface and five drawers supported by tapering inlaid and banded legs terminating in bronze block feet.
Measures 51 x 50 x 24 inches.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair, minor veneer flakes.
Provenance: The multi-generation collection of an early Kansas City family in the same home since 1962.
