263: A PAIR MEIJI PERIOD JAPANESE BRONZE PEASANT FIGURES

Two examples of the identical figure cast in bronze depicting a male peasant hanging on to his hat while wind lifts the corner of his robe, the belt around his waist holds a pouch and a woven basket in place, a signature on the back side of the base of each and matching wood stands.
Each measures 16 x 6.5 x 7.5 inches without stands.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear.
