76: A LOUIS XIV STYLE CARVED AND GOLD LEAF WALL CLOCK

The carved wood ribbon suspending a circular frame with festoon displaying a clock movement with hand painted polychrome garland within the hand painted chapter ring of Arabic numerals, original gilt hands, time only brass movement marked R A.
Measures 28.5 x 9 x 3.5 inches.
Good condition, noting a fracture and gesso loss at the eight o'clock position of the carved wood frame as shown. There are no chips, cracks or repairs in the dial. old gilt finish, presumably original, the running condition/timekeeping ability is not known.
Provenance: The multi-generation collection of an early Kansas City family in the same home since 1962.
