83: A GOOD LOUIS XVI PERIOD CARVED FRUIT WOOD BERGERE

The squarish back with exposed construction joining carved arms enclosed with upholstery supported by fluted baluster turnings atop the front legs with carved flutes joining swelling seat rails.
Chair measures 36 x 25.5 x 25.
The chair frame is in very good condition and free from damage or repair and with nice patina. The upholstery is in poor condition. The silk covering is in very bad condition.
Provenance: The multi-generation collection of an early Kansas City family in the same home since 1962.
