129: RAIL CAR MURAL ATTRIBUTED TO GENERAL PERSHING ZEPHYR

The reverse intaglio, gold leaf and mirrored glass installation said to be from a rail car on the Burlington Route Zephyr streamliner The General Pershing. Research to confirm this is ongoing at the time of catalog posting. The glass plate is smooth on the front public side and intaglio molded back side with the image of fleeing buffalo and a frontiersman on horseback with rifle in pursuit.

In 1896 Pershing was assigned to the frontier with the Tenth Cavalry.
Measures 34.75 x 31.25 inches.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair.
