110: A 19TH C. INLAID WALNUT SAILOR'S BOX WITH ROPE BECKETS

The small, handsome chest with hinged lid framed in flat molding overhanging the dovetailed case with applied foot molding and inlaid ebony heart-shape escutcheon, each end is mounted with sailor-made woven rope beckets, the interior is somewhat divided with compartments having ivory catches. the lid is inlaid with an ivory plaque having scrimmed decoration of an anchor, an American eagle and a Masonic symbol, great warm patina overall.
Measures 7 x 9.5 x 17.25 inches.
Very good condition, noting the loss of the original lock and a lid catch; there are no issues of damage, repair or heavy wear, nice patina.
