112: A FINE ENGRAVED AND INLAID 18TH C. ROSEWOOD BACKSTAFF

The mortised triangular rosewood frame with two nicely patinated and hand engraved boxwood arcs, one of 60 degrees and the other with scroll cut end and engraved star with other decoration at 25 degrees, nice pyramidal decoration on each of the tenon points, incised line decoration on the frame, inlaid boss engraved Lemuel Bartlett 1794. A custom iron and wood display stand is included.
Measures 25.25 x 19.5 x 5 inches.
Very good intact condition, noting that the vanes are modern replacements. There are no chips, cracks, scratches or areas of heavy wear.
