160: TWO GRAND TOUR PERIOD 19TH C. WORKS AFTER FRA ANGELICO

The skillfully executed renditions of angels with musical instruments on panel with incised and wings embellished with jewel-tone highlights, each is presented in the original Gothic style gold leaf Florentine frame with ornate peak and two full twist columns each side over a plinth with brackets and a lower pendant. Each retains the original paper label from Dumini & Sons Florence.
Measure 30 x 10 x 3 inches each.
One has a split at a vertical joint at the base, one has a horizontal wood split and minor corresponding loss of gilt surface, there are no other issues of damage, repair or heavy wear. One is missing a horizontal cleat from the panel on the back side.
Provenance: The multi-generation collection of an early Kansas City family in the same home since 1962.
