The inlaid mahogany display cabinet is offered with an intact collection of outstanding sea shell specimens. The openwork gallery over a band of ribbon-like veneers above two hinged doors with oval glass enclosed by book matched veneers on either side of a central showcase area - all filled with sea shells. The outset base is fitted with three lift-top showcases with banded front filled with shells, raised on tapered legs.
Measures 67.5 x 65.5 x 25 inches.
Very good condition, noting bits of veneer loss just below the top gallery, corner of one door and at some edges and corners, an unobtrusive age split at each oval opening, no actual damage or repair.
Provenance: The multi-generation collection of an early Kansas City family in the same home since 1962.
