An interesting French School portrait of a gentleman with 18th century nobleman styling in a gold metal locket of primitive construction.

Plus a memorial brooch with portrait framed in a wheat motif bezel and backed by a hinged cover over receptacle for hair. Wheat was a common allegory for mourning of loved ones in times past with symbolism linked to the Bread of the Eucharist.
Measure 1.75 x 1 and 1.5 x 1.25 inches.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair, light wear at some edges and in some areas.
Provenance: The multi-generation collection of an early Kansas City family in the same home since 1962.
