398: A 17TH/18TH C. CARVED IVORY FIGURE OF THE VIRGIN MARY

The carved ivory figure on crescent moon atop an integral base with frieze of angel busts highlighted in colors, the whole raised on a carved gessoed and painted wood base of the period, presumably original, possibly Goanese.
Measures 9 x 4.25 x 3 inches including the base.
Very good condition, noting minor issues consistent with age, usage and material.
