235: A 17TH CENTURY CONTINENTAL OX BONE POWDER FLASK

The horn section with a single closed end decorated with a row of rope twist over acanthus leaves and a scene of Diana with hunting hounds pursuing a deer along elements of a family crest over bands of acanthus and rope twist, the small end is enclosed by a cross-hatched plate, an iron ring is mounted to the larger end.
Measures 7 x 3.25 inches.
Very good condition, noting a split to the bottom enclosure no other damage or repair.
Provenance: The multi-generation collection of an early Kansas City family in the same home since 1962.
