160: A COMPLETELY UNIQUE 19TH C. FOLK ART MEASURING DEVICE

The interesting hand made device for which the use has not yet definitively been determined, clearly the square cherry wood shaft is inlaid with a scrimmed bone measuring scale, it is also fitted with a figural oak shoe split in two, the top half slides in an open channel as part of the measuring function. A very interesting object with great patina.
Measures 15.75 inches when extended.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear, nice warm patina overall.
