The wheel thrown stoneware jar with incised bands and undulating squiqqle bears a scratched dedication 'T.S. borders to Bacco JarMade By W. Boders on June 5th 1878' is paired with a 19th century American schoolgirl sampler with birds, no name or date.
Measures 7.25 x 4.25 inches. Frame measures 11.5 x 8 inches.
Very good condition, noting small nicks at the rim.
