49: A LARGE MYSTERIOUS 19C. IRON PADLOCK SIGNED BENY HIRSCH

The rare large (very large) iron lock with great patina is stamped BENY HIRSCH SOHN KARLSBAD on the shackle, the portico front is centered by a figural key device behind which the patina surface confirms that this device rotates on its central mount and has been turned many times, presumably opening the shackle. The back side is mounted with a traditional dust cover on pin, though it too is 'locked.'
Measures 13 x 8 x 2.5 inches.
