AN EARLY 19TH C. BANJO CLOCK WITH WAR OF 1812 TABLET

4: AN EARLY 19TH C. BANJO CLOCK WITH WAR OF 1812 TABLET

A presentation style banjo clock similar in style to that of Simon Willard (see plate 19 in John Ware Willard's book 'Simon Willard & His Clocks', 1968 Dover Publications Inc., New York). Time only, the original unsigned dial in original paint, original period hands, unsigned movement, maker unknown. The throat appears all original, lower tablet may be an old replacement, bracket looks to be an addition.
Very good as described in the listing field, the running condition is unknown but assumed good given the complete nature of the mechanism.
