68: A 19THC EMPIRE MAHOGANY & GILT BRONZE BUREAU A CYLINDRE

An Empire-style mahogany and gilt bronze-dore mounted Bureau a Cylindre. The rectangular top above cylinder with gilt-bronze crown of laurel mount flanked by palmettes opening to reveal a long pullout black leather writing surface and fitted with an arrangement of a long filing niche over three short drawers, all raised on four tapering cylindrical legs with gilt collars and end caps. Measures 43 x 53 inches.
