171: A FINE BLEU CELESTE GROUND SEVRES TYPE BOX WITH CHERUBS

A porcelain box of notched oval shape with ormolu mounts, the cover painted to the edges with cherubs, bows, arrows and quivers near ruins, the base painted with verandas within gold beading on sky blue ground, the interior is decorated by floral sprays. All decoration is hand painted without use of decal or transfer. Measures 4.25 x 8.75 x 6 inches. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
A stress crack in the porcelain cover very near the hinge is visible from the inside. Discoloration in this same area is visible from the outside and the hinge appears to have had repair. There are no other issues of chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or wear.
