205: VOLKSTEDT PORCELAIN LIDDED BOWLS AFTER 18TH C. SEVRES

A pair of early 20th century cobalt glaze and gold gilt two-piece bolted porcelain lidded bowls after the 18th century Sevres examples of hard-paste porcelain with gilt bronze mounts. Whereas the Sevres examples from 1785 were fitted with bronze mounts attributed to Pierre-Philippe Thomire, these are completely porcelain, including the handles, and bear the mark of the Volkstedt porcelain factory in Germany circa 1920. Each measures 13.25 x 10.75 x 9.25 inches. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. Excellent condition free from damage, repair or wear to any degree. Very fine overall, all original, no condition issues to report.
