281: A 19TH CENTURY ANGLO CHINESE ZITAN UPHOLSTERED SETTEE

The rectangular back and out-scrolled arms surmounted by an elaborate and intricately pierced carved high crest of birds among flowering vines and C-scrolls, scrolling arm supports carved in bas-relief with dragons, fitted with cushioned back and seat, gadrooned seat rail over shaped, carved apron with acanthus vines, tendrils and fruit, the whole raised on carved cabriole legs with flower knees and paw feet. Upholstered in black and white stripe silk fabric with two matching bolsters. Measures 45 x 82 x 26 inches. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
Cosmetically very good with intact and original carvings and ornamentation. Old repairs of previously separated joints and supports.
