306: AN EMPIRE STYLE BRONZE MOUNTED MAHOGANY BED

Late 19th century, the headboard having triangular pediment centered with Neoclassical gilt bronze mounts of winged lions above a molded edge supporting gilt acorn finials flanked by freestanding cylindrical posts, the paneled foot-board of conforming design with gilt-metal mount of chariot scene, rails applied on all sides with gilt-bronze mounts of palmettes and stars, the whole raised on four toupie feet. Measures 58 x 81 x 62.5 inches. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
