65: AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY ENGLISH NEEDLEWORK PICTURE

An early 19th century embroidered panel depicting a seated maiden in stumpwork gown with painted facial details seated in the forest, to her right is a lion with coilwork mane; behind her a donkey and forest scene of varying embroidered trunks and coil work vegetation, all within a rectangular wooden carved frame of the period. The rectangular linen panel with embroidered oval scene stretched on original wood frame. Measures 17.5 x 15 inches overall.

The soft portions in very good clean condition without damage or repair. The frame displays the effects of age.
