142: TWO 18TH CENTURY MAPS - SALZBURG, ISLE OF SKYE

Includes Johann Baptist Homann's undated 'Salisburgensis,' 19 x 22.5 inch sight size, 25 x 28.5 inch frame. Hand tinted, some tearing at edges, and stain to middle left edge. Homann was perhaps the most proficient German map maker of the 18th century. Lot includes an undated map of the Isle of Skye, titled 'Skia vel Skiana, The Yle of Skie,' also hand tinted, heavy toning and some foxing, previously folded. 16.75 x 21.25 inch sight size, 25 x 29.5 inch frame, missing glass.
