204: DANIEL BRENNAN (1929-1989) OIL ON CANVAS

Titled 'Still Life with Turnips and Potatos', signed lower right, canvas measures 36 x 48 and the frame is 37 x 49 inches. Provenance: from the personal collection of Sidney and Anne Lawrence who moved to Kansas City from New York in 1946. Sydney Lawrence taught art history at New York University and operated a gallery there. In 1949 they opened Lawrence Gallery at 43rd and Main where they exhibited American and European contemporary paintings, drawings, original prints, sculpture and ceramics.

Scattered small flakes and chips to the paint along the lower quarter of the canvas. Original untouched condition free from touch-up or repair.
