331: GEORGE H. WRIGHT (1872-1951) PENCIL SIGNED ETCHING

A 1944 etching in an edition of only 100 prints and titled 'Back to Earth'. Signed in pencil lower right by the artist. The plate image size is 9 x 12 inches, sheet size is 12.5 x 15 inches, frame size is 17.5 x 20.25 inches. An American Society of Etchers folio verso discusses the themes and symbolism of this etching. The essay's author, noted American artist and etcher John Taylor Arms (1887–1953), says of George Wright "He is a member of many art societies, has won innumerable awards, and is represented in numerous collections, both public and private". He goes on to refer to this print as "...a thoroughly fine and desirable print."

Very good condition noting the rectangular outline of residue or stain from an adhesive sticker lower left corner front side, brown paper tape remains upper right and left corners back side. Not laid down, full untrimmed margins, clean, there are no areas or issues of damage, wear, punctures, stain or repair.
