397: FRANK MARVIN (1852–1915) LAWRENCE WINDMILL ETCHING

An early Kansas print maker, Frank Olin Marvin (1852–1915)served as Kansas University's first Dean of the School of Engineering. The subject of this etching being the old Lawrence Kansas windmill. Wind power drove a number of industries in Kansas during the 19th century. Measures 7.75 x 10.5 inches in frame, 4.75 x 7.25 inch sight size. Plus a pencil signed etching by Ernest Irwin which measures 13.25 x 27.5 inches in frame, 7.25 x 22 inch sight size. Smaller measures 7.75 x 10.5 inches in frame, 4.75 x 7.25 inch sight size.
