78: DANIEL BRENNAN (1929-1989) OIL ON CANVAS

Titled 'Still Life with Japanese Doll' verso on the stretcher and again on the Lawrence collection label verso. Signed lower right and dated 63. The canvas measures 38 x 38, frame measures 39 x 39 inches. Provenance: from the personal collection of Sidney and Anne Lawrence who moved to Kansas City from New York in 1946. Sydney Lawrence taught art history at New York University and operated a gallery there. In 1949 they opened Lawrence Gallery at 43rd and Main where they exhibited American and European contemporary paintings, drawings, original prints, sculpture and ceramics. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
Good though with chipped and missing paint lower left. Odd line vertically on the right through the doll's face.
