The original period worm wood frame is very similar to those known to have been made by Sloane for his paintings.

Provenance: Acquired directly form the artist by the owners of Rothmann's East Norwich Inn, East Norwich on the North Shore of Long Island in New York, a multi-generation establishment frequented by Sloane and many other notable figures dating back to Theodore Roosevelt.
