13: ALFRED MONTGOMERY (1857-1922) OIL ON ARTIST'S BOARD

Signed lower left, a still life of corn with the kernels in the distinctive thick impasto technique unique to Montgomery, shucked ears spilling from a bent wood 'bushel' basket common in the 19th century, executed in oil painted on artist's board as seen with paintings circa 1900, the original artist's board backed with and mounted to a circa 1920's advertising placard, displayed in a modern frame. The work measures 16 x 24 inches and is displayed in a 18.5 x 26.5 inches overall.

We happily provide seamless in-house packing and shipping services on nearly everything we sell.
Very fine condition, no issues of any type to report. No surface chips, scratches, repairs, losses, or detracting issues to any degree. Examination under UV light did not reveal inpainting, touch-up or repair of any type, three spots appear at the left edge but do not appear as later paints.
