Gimbal mounted compass with large dry card, fine fleur-dis-lis marking north. Brass pivot and agate cap, signed C.R. Sherman & Co., New Bedford. Weighted brass bowl with glazed lens, dovetailed pine box with an old repair. Compass measures 6.5 inches in diameter, points north. Case measures 6.5 x 10 x 10 inches.
