222: A 19TH C. SAILOR-MADE BOX WITH MARINE IVORY DECORATION

A sewing or ditty box constructed with pine wood bottom boards, mahogany sides and dividers, the top of the hinged lid is an unknown wood - perhaps a tropical species, the lid decorated with an inlaid diamond and applied marine ivory diamond and star symbols, applied heart-form keyhole escutcheon, measures 5 x 13.25 x 9.5 inches overall.

We happily provide seamless in-house packing and shipping services on nearly everything we sell.
Good to very good condition, noting the loss of one applied diamond decoration, no damage, heavy wear or repair, good clean surface, could be missing a cover from a till compartment.
