201: A METTLACH ETCHED AND MOSAIC TECHNIQUE URN # 1462

A cylindrical urn or vase raised on four high-glaze feet, artist signed C. Warth for Christian Warth (1820 - 1902); the top rim decorated in a high glaze band over consecutive bands of Mettlach mosaic technique decoration above four large portico openings with etched allegories of the Four Seasons framed in shaped openings and bordered below by additional bands of glazed mosaic technique decoration, impressed markings of the Abbey trademark, Mettlach numerals 1462 and 05. Measures 13.5 x 7 inches.
