31: A COIN-OPERATED POLYPHON STYLE 54 MIKADO MUSIC BOX

A very good Polyphon model 54, spring driven, plays 24.5 inch discs, double comb mechanism with 159 extra large steel teeth winds to play up to 45 minutes continuously, fine walnut case with original gallery and finials, inlaid brass POLYPHON lettering below the crown, nice old, if not original, finish, original base with pull-out disc storage, five discs are included. Plays magnificently.
Measures 88 inches high to the tallest finial and 33 inches wide at widest molding.
Very good original condition noting later silver paint on the interior tin coin drop tube assembly, one missing lock from the lower storage compartment. One tooth is missing from lowest section of the comb.
