A nice, highly figured burr walnut veneer stereoscope, the front lens panel with ebonised eye apertures within a raised molded frame, square cabinet with upper moldings, dual hinged reflecting doors with mirrors, wood revolving mechanism knobs, holds 50 cards, ground glass light diffusing lens, an oval tag for THE LONDON STEREOSCOPIC EXHIBITION ACHROMATIC REVOLVING STEREOSCOPE 1862. Measures 17.5 x 14 x 10.5 inches.

Good condition free from major damage or repair, the wole displays the effects of age and use in the form of finish dryness, loss and wear, minor splits and separations, slightly warped top lids, wear to high points and edges. The interior carriage complete and operable with a bit of slippage. Exterior shows some wear and cosmetic scratches, optics clear, spindle and knob nice and tight.
