89: A GOOD LATE 19TH C. FRENCH ROCOCO CHERUB INKSTAND

A shaped brass or bronze inkstand with acanthus and rocaille edge, enclosing paired cupola covered inkwells cast with a lobed body and fluted lid with berried rim each surmounted by a pomegranate finial; the classically draped cherub seated on an half clam shell while holding aloft a floral branch. Ink tubs with glass inserts. Nice detailed casting and stippling. Measures 3.5 x 8.25 x 5.5 inches.
Very good original condition including the original ink tubs and patina.
