262: A NEAR PAIR LATE 19THC. CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE VASES

A pair of tapering ovoid vases with flush-fitting covers, each decorated on one side in famille rose palette with archaic vessels planted with peony and other flowers and on the other with poetic texts in iron red & black, the base with seal marks, wood stands. Largest measures 13 x 8 inches, smaller 12 x 7.25 inches. Both include small wooden stands.
Roughness to inner lid flanges, some paint fading and wear, but with no chips, cracks, repairs or scratches.
