A VERY RARE AND EXCELLENT C. 1915 GUMBALL MACHINE

1: A VERY RARE AND EXCELLENT C. 1915 GUMBALL MACHINE

A very rare gumball machine by a heretofore unidentified maker, original red paint with traces of pin stripe decoration on the cash box door and around the circular top, remains of a paper label just above the lever provides instruction on operating the mechanism, interesting paper labels on the glass include a triangular label for the Common Sense Gum Co of Boston, Mass. Bill Ines lists this as a 'mystery machine' in his book Silent Salesmen: An Encyclopedia of Collectible Gum, Candy and Nut Machines and dates it to circa 1915. If the globe is original on this machine, that could make it the best example known. Only a few exist. Measures 11.5 x 7.5 inches.

We happily provide seamless in-house packing and shipping services on nearly everything we sell.
Very good condition with original paint and pin stripe decoration, minor wear and scratches.
