A pokal being a tall drinking cup or goblet, the german versions are typically very tall as in this example and usually covered. A high top cover with a beveled finial over fish scale motif, a rounded shoulder having fruit and scrolls in relief, the downswept expanding body with a band of Bacchanalia over band of bounty and ribbons and swirls, a grape motif stem raised on a dome foot, unsigned. Measures 20 x 7 inches.
