229: A 19TH C. BRASS LADIES HIGH TOP SHOE INKWELL

A brass or bronze inkwell in the form of a ladies' high top shoe on cushion with tassels, the surface decorated by hand engraved scrolls and stippling accented by turquoise-colored and ruby-colored jewels, the shoe standing on a pillow with corner bows and braided brass edge. The shoe upper hinged to reveal the ink receptacle, the whole on four ball feet. Measures 9 x 8 x 6 inches. We happily provide seamless in-house packing and shipping services on nearly everything we sell.
The hinge is loosened and partially detached, still functional. Missing a several blue beads throughout. The metal base from the hinged lid is loose, but present.
