The striking little oil on artist's board displayed in a flat, wide frame is signed lower left.
Hollis Williford is most often associated with art of the American West, as evidenced by his works in the Whitney Gallery of Western Art, the Denver Art Museum and the Thomas Gilcrease Museum. He often chose other masculine subjects, like the untangling this log jam on a Washington state river.
Panel measures 6.25 x 9 with a framed size of 13 x 15.5 inches.
Very good original untouched condition. There are no issues of major scratches, losses, repairs, in-painting or touch-up.
Provenance: The estate of Kansas City artist Robert Wornall.
