215: A PAUL STORR GEORGE III STERLING SILVER MAZARINE

The large oval form pierced with crosses and stars within an openwork border of scrolling foliage is centered by the engraved Howard family crest and raised on four bun feet. The underside of the oval dished rim is stamped with the maker's mark, lion passant, crowned leopard's head, duty mark and date stamp of 1816.
Measures 1 x 20 x 15 inches. Weighs approximately 88.41 ozt.
Very good condition, noting scattered utensil marks as shown. there are no issues of damage, repair or removal of engravings.
Provenance: The estate of Morton and Estelle Sosland.In Kansas City, the Sosland family name is synonymous with both giving, and the arts.
