213: BRITISH STERLING AND CUT CRYSTAL COLOGNE BOTTLES 1882

The pair of Victorian cut crystal figural parrot bottles are comprised of cut and etched crystal bodies embellished by sterling silver mounts bearing the stamped hallmark of William Leuchars along with London date stamp for 1882. The tail of each bears the pre-1885 English registry mark on its underside. Each hinged bird's head is set with two fused red glass eyes having black centers.
Measures 3.25 x 6 x 1.5 inches.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of heavy wear. There are no stoppers.
Provenance: The estate of Morton and Estelle Sosland.In Kansas City, the Sosland family name is synonymous with both giving, and the arts. Of their many contributions to the community, 'The Soslands gave one of the nation's finest private collections of American Indian art to the Nelson-Atkins' museum (nelson-atkins.org).
