297: A NORTH AMERICAN INDIAN PLATEAU TRIBE BEADED BAG

The large circular pouch or bag beaded in an unusual motif on one side and trimmed in commercially tanned hide is lined in printed cotton cloth and likely dates to the third quarter of the 20th century.
Measures 15 x 11.5 inches not including handle.
Very good condition, noting stain to the back side. There are no issues of damage, loss or beadwork repair.
Provenance: The estate of Morton and Estelle Sosland.In Kansas City, the Sosland family name is synonymous with both giving, and the arts. Of their many contributions to the community, 'The Soslands gave one of the nation's finest private collections of American Indian art to the Nelson-Atkins' museum (nelson-atkins.org).
