401: A HEAVILY CHASED SILVER PLATE PITCHER WITH HINGED COVER

The body with repousse florals in high relief is mounted with C-scroll handle and bearded male figural spout, the hinged cover with thumb lift is topped by an acanthus finial.
Measures 14.75 x 11.5 inches.
Very good condition, noting that the finial is loose and needs tightening. Faint discoloration on one side.
Provenance: The estate of Morton and Estelle Sosland.In Kansas City, the Sosland family name is synonymous with both giving, and the arts. Of their many contributions to the community, 'The Soslands gave one of the nation's finest private collections of American Indian art to the Nelson-Atkins' museum (nelson-atkins.org).
