563: BICYCLIST PORCELAIN LITHOPHANE STEIN WITH HUMIDOR

The 1/2 liter German porcelain stein for the League of American Wheelmen, an early membership organization formed in the era of high wheel bicycles, bears the club logos and the motif of a high wheel bike, attributed to Schierholz, 1/2 liter, pewter mounts, lithophane in the base depicts a bicyclist taking a spill on a busy street.

A painted terra cotta cigar jar is included. The figure of a man lifting a beer stein covers a jar of figural cigars, the base with impressed mark of MADE IN BOHEMIA.
Measures 6.5 x 6 x 3.5 and 6 x 4.25 inches.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of heavy wear, noting two flecks of lost surface paint from the cigar humidor.
