562: A FRANKART MACHINE AGE ART DECO LUMINAIRE WITH NUDE

The classic 'Silhouette' model number 212 designed by Arthur von Frankenberg (1889 - 1950) for Frankart featuring a female nude standing tip-toe with arms outstretched and hands turned downward as if wrapped around the frosted glass tablet behind her in skyscraper mounts rising at either end of the stepped base with original black enamel finish and embossed mark of FRANKART © 1928 back side.

The design patent number 76612 is embossed on the back side as well. The patent was issued to Frankart in 1928 and the subject of a lawsuit where Frankart, Inc., sued the Metal Lamp Corporation for infringement in 1929.
Measures 10.75 x 6.5 x 3.75 inches.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair, light wear and minor bits of loss. The original felt covered base plate is included.
