The lithograph published by Associated American Artists in an edition of 250 prints is signed by the artist in pencil below the image lower right and listed as Fath catalog number 16. The original AAA label is present verso.

Benton's comments in Fath read: Ohio-Mississippi floods of 1937. Made in the bootheel of Missouri. The '37 flood brought under water great sections of the lowlands of S.E. Missouri. Many farms and farm houses were under water. The two women are looking over their own home as the muddy water rushes by. A series of drawing were made of conditions there for the Kansas City Star and the St. Louis Post Dispatch. The lithograph is from one of the drawings.
Image measures 9.25 x 12, sheet is 11.75 x 16 with a framed size of 22.5 x 25.5 inches.
Very good condition, the complete sheet with four deckle edges, very clean, not laid down, no stain, damage or repair.
