158: A HIGHLY CARVED 19TH C. THERMOMETER BAROMETER

With a carved acanthus leaf pediment above the upper rectangular glazed aperture enclosing a thermometer and mercury filled vile, surmounting a large circular convex glazed brass-bounded window engraved "Storm, Regen of Wind, Veranderlyk, M001 Weer, Bestendig" with atmospheric designations, encircled by a flourish of conforming carved acanthus and C-scrolls.
Measures 24.5 x 9.5 inches.
Small chips to a few floral tips, very good condition overall, the mechanisms are intact and presumably functional.
