157: A 19TH C. FRENCH EMPIRE STYLE MAHOGANY BERGERE

A good bronze mounted bergere, the out scrolling upper molded crest rail framed with wide brass line inlay centering a bronze doré stylized palmette reserve mount, the broad conforming padded leather barrel-like back within a similarly carved mahogany frame having brass inlaid arms over gilt winged griffin supports and a padded seat over a brass inlaid seat rail, raised on tapering sabre legs with brass line inlay, the seat, back and sides upholstered in Bordeaux red leather finished with nail heads.
Measures 32.5 x 25 x 24 inches.
Good condition noting the loss of one length of brass inlay form the proper right side of the upper crest rail. Very good otherwise, displaying only light minor effects of age and use, sturdy, clean, free from excessive or detracting wear, no damage or repair.
